Why did it get harder to find Japanese videos after 1/1/21?

Did a law pass or something that suddenly at the start of the year it became much harder to find Japanese videos to download? Some companies are impossible to find anymore and some are only available many months after their release. I used to be able to find almost every video soon after it was released, but now there are many that are never available. It's frustrating, even more so because many aren't even available to buy here in the US.
