      Hi all,

I am using Surfshark VPN for torrenting. I tried different servers of the VPN but I could only connect to the tracker of this website occasionally (which I don't know how it's working, sometimes only one torrent file can connect to the tracker but others cannot).

It seems to me that only the tracker of this website is affected. I also torrent with other private trackers and they are working fine. Hope that someone can help me because this is getting kind of annoying :(.

From the sounds of it, it is likely that you may need to change VPN providers as the one you are using is being blocked by our DDoS filter.

I have the same issue with SurfShark and only with this site.
I am not going to change VPN subscription just for your site…
I bought a 2 year suscription and all other sites including torrent sites work normally
This should be excluded on GT site ends.

EDIT: disabling SSL in my profile "solves" the issue. But it more of a workaround than a solution. Can't this be fixed on GT tracker end?

Are you using Transmission 3.0 by chance? Some users have had to roll back to the previous version (2.94) to be able to work with the SSL tracker.

As for the blocking, there's not much we can do, as the DDoS protection is a 3rd party service, for which we are not able to configure or tweak.

Are you able to get a stats page when you open this link?

                    Yes I can.

I am now disabling the option of SSL tracker and it worked quite well at the beginning. But now the upload speed is significantly slower and I have to manually stop and resume the torrents to connect to the peers for uploading. Is this a problem with port forwarding?

Port forwarding can definitely affect your ability to get upload traffic. In some cases, it can seem nearly impossible to get upload traffic without the correct port forwarding settings. You need to be sure that the port your torrent client uses is forwarded through your home router or VPN to your computer, both in TCP and in UDP.

You can't use Surf Shark to seed

This is why I use these https://airvpn.org/?referred_by=201634

They do cost a bit more but you get so much more control plus the old saying you get what you pay for (these offer discounts when its special times of the year like halloween etc)

The other thing Surf Shark sounds good on paper but simple things like unlimited connections and constant pushing deals this just shows I wouldn't trust them what so ever its not sustainable
