UPLOADED TORRENT CHECKS TO 99.8% OR 99.9% THEN STOPS!! ===>> SOLUTION
-
At the helpdesk, we frequently get asked this question, in varying forms… TODAY'S EXAMPLE:
"I used the QuickTorrentMaker to upload a folder. All the steps work well until the upload stage / it gets stuck at "connecting to peers 99.8%"."
This member missed the actual nuanced sequence of events that during the re-download of the uploaded torrent file, his torrent client could only CHECK the downloaded torrent file to 99.8%, because the file contents on his computer no longer matched the contents of the original torrent file.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . SOLUTION: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
This 99.9% check problem is actually due to your not showing system files in your windows explorer, then inadvertently including a certain system file in the torrent you created....
So when you created the .torrent file, you included the (hidden for you) "thumbs.db" system file... which windows very frequently modifies, making the .torrent file invalid, as the contents of torrent have been changed after creation.
SOLUTION:
Set windows to show system files
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files(If possible) Add the thumbs.db file to the "skip files" box of the "Create New Torrent" dialog box (in the case of using the uTorrent torrent client, for example).
…then delete the earlier-created and uploaded .torrent file on your PC and delete your earlier uploaded torrent presentation on the GTRU website...
...then create a NEW torrent file, MAKING SURE NO "thumbs.db" SYSTEM FILE GETS INCLUDED THIS TIME,
...then again upload a new torrent presentation, with the NEW .torrent file, which upon re-downloading should check to 100%, and start seeding correctly.
Good Luck!

Thank you for the prompt reply!
Unfortunately, there are no hidden files in any of the folders that i want to upload. I absolutely confirm that I correctly selected "View hidden files, folders, and drives". I even kept an eye on the contents of the folder while QTM was creating the torrent and uploading it on the site. No files were created at any stage (such as a "thumbs.db").
Are there any other suggestions to avoid this error? At this point, I will just archive the folder and make a torrent of that…

Well, SOMETHING got changed (file name?) or it would have checked to 100%.
Time for you to put your detective hat on!
Good luck!

I've got my hawk eyes on - nothing visibly changes… I can record the screen for you and send it, I don't know how else to describe it.

Great, even archiving the folder that I want to upload stops at 99.9%. In this case, i am uploading a single file (zip) and it still gives me the error…

Run a checksum on the single file BEFORE you create the torrent…. record that number.
AFTER you create the torrent for this single file, run another checksum on that single file.
Did the checksums match?
And are you using a standard western font, when you name the file?
Good "process-of-elimination" work on your part, BTW.
Take care,
