Dove made a commercial changing a black woman white. Thoughts?

This is the best article I found because it goes into the history. What do you think, racist or just insensitive?
A couple of years ago a small Chinese company ran an ad in which a black house painter, speckled with white paint, tried to kiss a Chinese woman. She dodges the kiss, pushing him into the laundry machine. He comes out a porcelain white Chinese man. I argued that this wasn't racist because 1) in China there are next to zero black people, 2) so there is no race problem (China isn't obliged to follow Western sensitivity rules because the commercial means something else to a set of Chinese eyes than Western ones).
This Dove ad is different, imo. What do you think?

Both are racist. It's bullshit that they used an African-American that way.

You didn't watch the actual commercial, did you? A screen grab was used to start the controversy. I'm guilty of this, too. I saw the snippet looped on FB and reacted without looking at the source material. My bad. :spank2:
I've changed my view on this. It's not racist. It's propoganda.

The black woman in the Dove commercial says it's not racist and she doesn't feel victimized by it.
I guess she's a white supremacist now.

I Will never buy Dove again.

Interesting. Weird ?

they are both racist…
but hey people have different opinions... some of those are wrong of course.
in the end i never used dove products and i do not plan to start now.
in the past i loved to eat white mill biscuit... a brand owned by barilla... and after their homophobic view i just stopped buying any barilla products or other brands owned by the same people.
