Is there a reason why the groundbreaking, gender-bending films "M. Butterfly" and "The Crying Game" weren't included? While I realize they're not necessarily about the gay experience, as they represent more of the "T" in LGBT, one might argue that these movies came a time when mainstream gay representation was scarce, and these movies were taken up by the gay community as cause célèbres for the queering of culture. Also, they're cultural masterpieces that have stood the test of time. :afr: :afr: :afr:

So because it's now 2020 and before I jump in, can anyone say,
Is this 2015 list the latest list? -
"Cruising" with Al Pacino from 1980 tops anything on this list. He's an undercover detective, who assumes a leather man identity, cruises underground gay bars, dressed in jeans, a black tank top, a thick black leather belt, with clunky black leather ankle boots, a black leather jacket, and a black leather motorcycle cap. He acts as if he's trying to pick up "rough trade," another guy to fuck for a one night stand. The scenes are realistic, the sex appears genuine, the guys are believably gay; and there are many plot twists. Pacino's character is a straight, married hetero, but, in the scenes between two males, he seems totally gay, and into the scene. He doesn't chew up the scenery, buts acts the part, perfectly. The disguise is to find a serial killer of gay men, only involved in that type of scene,. This is before the AIDS crisis, and those kinds of scenes were common then. No awards given then to GLBTQ+ films, but this one deserves some. Very hard to find during the 1980's AIDS period, but readily available now.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA-k-qhrFcQ

@prostated there was arguably cut scene about the movie (explicit gay theme scene) but never really was confirmed.
