Blood Sample Undetermined for HIV
-
Through this last month i've been phisically and psycogically tested.
A month ago I woke up with a high fever, pain in my eyes and forehead. I didnt get worried beacause my first thought was sinusitis, but the day after, harsh marks like pimples took my chest, arms, and legs. I called my sister (she's a physician) and since I live in Brazil, we concluded that could be a Dengue moskito that infected me.
The following days was a nightmare, with high fever 39c, night sweats and fatigation.
We decided to be hospitalized and have a proper treatment with hidratation because my appetite was also affected. Strangelly, the senior doctor wanted loads of blood for tests because my kind of "pimples" wasn't similar to Dengue. So, he asked to see my genetics from A to Z and lots of extra exams. After six days, I went home and the fever stayed for a few more days creating a doubt that was stamped in my sisters face. Even not having risk behavior, I had a new partner about a month that I've met in a app. When the proper test for HIV called Elisa arrived, there it was "Blood Sample Undetermined for HIV - repeat the test after 30 days", I didn't feel my body leaving the lab and coming home. My mother has been a strong supporter and gave me a hug: the territory for the a HIV+ confirmation is ready and armored. The owners lab said to my family to be calm and explained that my cells for analysis were in a "gray zone" because I was under an unknown viral infection for almost a month and that kind of thing blinds the result for many diseases. So they took another blood sample for a precise test called PCR and here I am waiting. It was holiday season and the results are gonna take longer.
I've called the guy I had sex three times ALWAYS with condoms, and I can tell he's is also in a "gray area" for me because he's not able to give me proper answer even being sensitive with him at most. "I can't tell, sorry… oral and rubbing counts?!" And I told him "You have 46yo, PHD in physics and don't know about sex risk behaviors? Just please do not have sex until the results because you can put other people in risk". He seems to be a cold blood or a loonie, and that makes my worst scenario more real.
Now that I choosed prepare myself and my beloved ones for a positive result, I've be living and looking at the mirror already as a HIV+, here in Brazil the meds are free, actually one of the best HIV public treatments in the world (odd isn't?!). But the most extraordinary situation is that, now, even not having sure about the condition, I'm put myself surrounded with love and a inner peace, I'm abble to accept things to come.
And most of all, despite the results, I'll never see the face of people HIV+ blank as I used to see.
They have colors, goals, lust for life wich goes beyond their blood.
It's not a easy ride, but I'm gonna take the road.T, 32yo, RJ - Brazil

It is not an easy "Ride" as you say. It can be done and lived through just fine though. Once you are stable on treatment life is as it normally should be. Follow Through with your checkups, make sure your kidney and liver are doing well on the meds. People react differently, even if a specific medication isn't supposed to have those issues.
Above all, there will be people who will still treat you differently. Just know they are the ones who have no real knowledge of HIV while fully treated. They only know the fear, of those with the infection who don't know they have it or don't follow the treatment to suppress the virus.
You will be OK and you can Live and be Happy. I hope the best for your second tests. Keep those who care about you in your life. They are a huge help

Thanks for the words!
The kidney and liver side effects is that strong? -
Hi, I hope you don't have it. Take care of yourself like you have it, but live like you don't. Do you know, does hiv acts like cancer? I know it's not same thing, but there must be some way to beat it, even without medicine. I think you should take good care of your liver and kidneys. Specially kidneys. If they stop working, then liver takes their job. But maybe you have just problems with liver. When you do it shows on your skin as well. If it's really bad. Do you have any parts on your body where it hurts? When I have strange kinds of pain that are just on few points, I always look on map of your bidy where they show meridians and that's how I know what's really wrong with me. When I get fever, it's usually some flesh eating bacteria that is giving me problems and then I drink Cat's Claw powder. You should know that one. It grows in your part of the world. It works magic. My dad says to beat cancer, you have to eat only fresh fruit and vegetables, nothing cooked. If hiv acts in any way like cancer, that might be it. But really try Cat's Claw first. It's natural antibiotic and it works so much faster than anything. It's also so much more terrible to drink than anything else. Specially because you can't really mix it with water. It's like drinking sand mixed with water. If you have a chance to fix whatever is wrong with you, that might be it. And don't you dare to think you're dying. We all are. Stay positive ok in your case negative. Poor choice of words, sorry. But I don't think you have hiv. Must be something with liver. So drink a lot of water and eat a lot of fresh food so you'll clean your blood. My family is into that sort of stuff. Not by choice. We were born that way. My dad's uncle cured cancer with flowers and alcohol and stones. He put energy somehow into water or alcohol. And it worked. You ust find that terrible Cat's Claw, drink it for a week or two and then give blood again. Try that before they put you on all those medicine that can kill you without hiv helping them. Then you'll know if it's something you can cure easly or something you'll need a bit more time to cure.

I have to say that I'm grateful and surprised with your words! My blood test are all right, only my LIVER RATES are tripled (TGP) and I can't remember mention it that in the first post! I google it and I looked for the translation of the plant you said called "Unha de Gato" here. Should I consume as a tea?
Thanks a lot!

Get tested again, use a different type of test besides the ELSA blood test. There are saliva tests and you can go to a doctor, have them take your blood and test it that way. I hope you do not have HIV.
Uno de gato is the herb called cat's claw. I have never consumed it but my friends from Mexico sometimes drink it when they are sick.
Since you are from Brasil you probably know about erva mate which is very good for your body as it has lots of vitamins and minerals but talk to a doctor before you take any herbs or supplements for your liver.

Sure, I won't consume anything without a second oppinion and I just did the (expensive) PCR test that comes this week.
I never cheered so much for a liver lazyness…

If they want to be sure of what they're working with, then aside from the ELSA, they'll also want to run what is known as a "Western Blot"… There are two different kinds of tests for the Western Blot... One tests for HIV type 1 (most common within North America), and the other is for HIV type 2 (most common within Africa).
As for living with HIV, I've been dealing with it now since 2009 and I can honestly say that once you get the right medications, there's really nothing to it. As for side effects to the liver, kidneys, etc, I am pleased to say that most of the newer medications have minimal to no impact on these organs.
In terms of living with HIV, this is nothing new to me... So if you need someone to talk to about it or to give you pointers on how to deal with it, don't be a stranger... I'm more than happy to provide whatever assistance that I can. I will tell you this though... No matter how educated you are on the subject, there is NOTHING that can prepare you for when the positive test result comes back (assuming that it does come back positive). I know this from first hand experience. What concerns me though is the "pimples" that you speak of, as this is not usually something associated with HIV. Generally, symptoms of HIV are very much like the symptoms of the flu. This would lead me to believe that there is something else going on in your body, which may not even he HIV related at all. Also, the other thing to take a look at as a "tell-a-tale" sign is to run a CD4/CD8 test. This will measure your absolute CD4 & CD8 levels, saturation, ratio, etc. If these numbers are low (below 700, but even worse below 200), then you may have reason for concern. Most often, newly infected people will have a rather low CD4 count, due to the way that HIV attacks the immune system.
As for proper confirmation, I would strongly recommend the Western Blot, as this will tell you quite quickly what is what, and if it is HIV, will tell you whether you're dealing with Type 1 or Type 2. They both work very much the same way, although there are a few minor differences between them.

I truly hope you do not have it - but realize it isn't a "death-sentence". I've been HIV+ since 2006 - and undetectable with no viral-load and no trace of the virus in my system. I have an immensely high CD4 count, and my husband I have been with for 8 years is HIV-. Even IF your next test is positive, you can be healthier living as HIV+ than you ever did when you were negative.

I can confirm this… Overall now, I'm healthier and able to withstand a lot more now than I was before I was diagnosed.

It's called Uno de Gato. It's powder and it sucks to drink it. You mix one teaspoon of it with some water or juice. I at first feel worse, but that takes just a bit of time and then you feel loads better. If maybe you have bacteria inside of you, that is the best thing. I once had some flesh eating bacteria that almost took my leg and from time to time I get sick with it again. Now I take that powder. Last time I think I had 39C temperature and was shaking. I drunk it and wass almost at 100% in 6 hours. A friend of mine had problems with his gums and he took that and was also better fast. I wouldn't say it if I wouldn't belive in it so much. I don't know what can it do to hiv, but if it's not hiv, take it. If you have fever it's probably from bacteria. If you have any more questions, PM me

If you don't mind me asking how do you believe you were infected if you used condoms?
Or did you ever bareback/have unprotected anal sex as a bottom/pasivo? Or give oral sex to him when you had cuts in your mouth?
I hope you can get on medications, and good luck with everything.

As I said at the first post, I did not have had unprotected sex: here's my outflow and warn.
That's the question that makes my family and I crazy (not a problem you asking). First of all, his viral rates must be very high, but I'd say it was his fluids (pre-semen) doing oral, but I wouldnt swallow if I felt something "different".
And there was nothing wrong with the condom and the lubrification was always ok.For me the ethical issue also bothers me: why someone (he's 46yo) after having a risk behavior don't stop doing sex until another test, shitting other people lives?! For me that's a kind of a selfish monster…
