Sausage Party orgy. Progressive or not?
-
Yeah, Sausage Party is in bad taste. Bad, as in naughty, haha. Lots of swearing and violence and stuff. But the ending was just over the top. Does it count as progressive if the characters involved don't really have real genders? It's actually a bit stimulating, especially with Lavash having facial hair and voiced by David Krumholtz (it'd be nice if he got in shape again). And they were all topping and bottoming, hehe.
I do like the religious theme though. It was a redeeming factor in the film.

I felt it very…..odd but the best part of the film I laughed so hard it was just out of nowhere.

I liked the Hitler bottle bring topped by the juice box, hehe.

Sausage Party won't be gaining any awards anytime soon, but you can bet is funny as fuck.
I think it was progressive in the idea that this is an animated movie aimed towards adults. There's this cliché about animation being only for kids but there have been really interesting and thoughtful animation movies catered toward mature audiences.
Granted, they all/most had deep messages or had some sort of social criticism.
Sausage Party is an animation aimed towards adults with no other objective than to entertain. And as an adult, I'm grateful for that.
The orgy was just for laughs, after all the innuendo thrown around everywhere in the movie.

I liked it that they went for an all out gay orgy but it wasn't considered bad within the film, nothing negative. It's not like they had real genders anyway since they're inanimate objects.

In general, the movie was progressive as far as animated features are concerned, in my opinion. In some ways it seemed to me like it picked up from where "Fritz The Cat" and "Heavy Traffic" left off in the 1970's (which as I remember, got X-ratings upon their release, the latter perhaps a hard-R), not so much for it's sociopolitical commentary (although that was certainly present) as for it just being a cartoon aimed at adults. Ironically, those earlier films were tame in comparison to the blatant sexuality depicted in "Sausage Party". I felt, however, that the characters actually did have genders and specific sexualities, even if their genitalia wasn't clearly visible, as much as alluded to. The Fruits getting ready to rumble a la "West Side Story" to the tune of "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham! just cracked me TF up, as well as many other scenes. I thought the movie as a whole was just funny as Hell, and actually very cleverly written.

The orgy scene was pure FOOD PORN! Amazing. Seth is such a funny guy, you don't have to like him. His ideas are so out there, I suppose it's due to his recreational use of pot. I think he's a clever guy and I like that he doesn't take himself seriously.

And for what it's worth, I always thought he was very handsome, since I first saw him in "The 40-Year-Old Virgin". His was the main character that caught my… "attention". :fap:

He had beard in 40 year old, right? I recall thinking who was that guy, hehe
Another part in the orgy that got me was the Hitler stand in getting topped and saying nein, haha

Yeah. Guess I'm a fan of both him and his work. Haven't seen anything by him yet that I didn't like on some level.

My actual favorite of his work is Green Hornet. Also for Bloodnofsky, haha
