With all the goodies I discovered on this site, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about a great, reliable, safe/private, cloud service to back up to?

I was considering back blaze or crash plan but wanted to see if anyone had ideas for others from personal experience.. Particularly great support, friendly, reliable, etc.

      Thanks

well I use my own dedicated server, I can access it through android, and my computer as a storage facilities, it acts as a drive, and I have created "drives" for friends so we can share stuff. No need of any software, it's accessible from windows mapped drives in explorer, or any web browser.
To me there's no reason to put in charge someone you don't know of your precious datas (many vpn/cloud/storage so called 'companies' are just guys from asia, east europe, and they will silently collect all they want from you and resell your datas, so be careful when you choose that kind of service provider): mail, vpn, cloud, web : all can be done by yourself easily and it cost less. ( a whole physical (not virtual) server can cost as low as 5 euros/month, for 30/month you got a xeon, 16go ram and possibilities to install as many virtual servers on it as you want).

Similar to gaypraha2, I too have a dedicated server, only my dedicated server actually consists of FIVE different dedicated servers all linked together with Dropbox, and all in different physical locations across multiple cities in my area. It works with Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android, Linux, and more. 🙂

Sure it is a small monthly fee, but in my experience it's well worth it as it makes doing updates to websites I host a breeze, among other things. All of my documents libraries, music, etc. is all synchronized across all of my computers and devices using Dropbox and either Junction on Windows based devices, or Symlinks on my Linux platforms to point everything to my Dropbox backups. The best part is that all 5 servers can go down, and I still have the Dropbox available to me to redownload everything. I can also set custom sharing so that I can share large files more securely, and I can share them without the need for worry about excess bandwidth usage across my server stations to maintain optimal system performance and speeds to the user base at all times. Even my 4 mail servers are synchronized this way so that I can make seamless transitions between servers. 🙂

I think, the yandex disk form Russia is a good selection. Free 10G on opening account. And you can use WebDav with yandex disk, so ,you can use cloud in many other programs like Total Commander (need plugin).
