Netflix renews Sense8 for season two

Sense8, Netflix's original sci-fi series from the Wachowskis, is coming back for season two. The long-awaited news was announced on Twitter today [8 Aug 2015] via a video from the show's cast.
Fans were starting to get concerned that Sense8 was going to disappear. The promising new show — which let the Wachowskis and writer J. Michael Straczynski stretch their legs a bit — went an unusually long time between its premiere on Netflix and the announcement that a second season was on the way. Most Netflix original series get renewed or cancelled soon after their first release — the longest wait has typically been around a month. But Sense8 came out over two months ago.
Nevertheless, the show is officially returning. It seems nearly certain that Straczynski and the Wachowskis are back on board — they had previously announced that they had designed the show around a five-season story arc — though no official details are available yet. We also don't know when you'll get to watch the group of sense-sharing individuals continue their story, but Netflix does note that season two is "coming soon."

Personally, I'm hoping for more frontal nudity from principals as well as lots more sensual sex activity like the first season's orgy, which was more evocative than frank, with lots of gleaming, writhing bodies. Far more artistic than explicit, but mostly waaay too short.

So when will we get season 2. I LOVED this show and had all the feels through it. It was amazing storytelling and the cast was just amazing. Also I am so envious of them all since they got to film in all the different countries and see the world.

For what I've read, the second season wasn't shooting while we waited for an announcement of renewal. So the season 2 will come around the same time the first season launched. Maybe a little later. So we're in for a long wait.

CKSLad: YOU are a troublemaker, lol. You may have thought that was an innocent question, but as it happens, there has been considerable debate in more than one thread. Is there enough gay content? Plenty. Also, a couple of principles are frontally nude, and there is a multi-siexual orgy and a bunch of (nonporn-discreet) sexual romping along the way. Okay, but is the story interesting? Well, now…. Some people have had a hard time getting into the first couple of episodes and either kept falling asleep (they were generally urged to pay closer attention and try again) or thought that eight story lines shot on location in different cities on multiple continents did not leave everything and everyone sufficiently integrated. That might be fixed this season (which no one has yet seen/reviewed), and a major plot thread that sometimes went begging may get renewed emphasis. Some people think this is excellent science fiction that evokes a "sense of wonder" that is a special feature of the genre at its most imaginative and, frankly, most transcendental. Others are not so engaged by the ideas, not fascinated by the emerging premises as they are revealed or established in the first few chapters, and there was even some division on the acting (which was or was not uniformly excellent) and characters (who were or were not well developed and connected to the overall scheme. As to what the overall scheme is.... actually, that remains to be seen as well, since there may be a clutch of further seasons for us to binge watch as the Wachowskis attempt to work out their full vision of the people and stories involved.
Reviewing the discussion in other Forum threads may be helpful in answering your question. Or, you know, you could just watch some of it and see what happens.
