How often does Gaytorrent.ru update for new uploads?
-
Just curious. I uploaded a torrent, did everything, the forced re-check (I use UTorrent) checked out fine, and I'm now in seeding mode. However, the tracker still says the torrent is unregistered. I think I'm OK on my end; do I just need to be more patient and wait for something to happen on Gaytorrent.ru?

The site updates the tracker with newly uploaded torrents each 30 seconds.
Usually the re-download of the .torrent file, adding it to the torrent client (your µTorrent) and recheck of the found data files to match takes longer. If you were faster, at the next announcement to the tracker (you see the count down in the details) it should go away.
Please check the tracker announce URL in the line with the "unregistered torrent" not to say perhaps "unregistered torrent pass" (you might need to expand the column width to see the full message).
If it says "unregistered torrent pass", you will have loaded most likely the original uploaded .torrent file and not the re-downloaded .torrent file into your torrent client. Only the re-downloaded .torrent file has your personal secrete passkey included in the tracker announce URL, format:
http://tracker.gaytorrent.tw:2710/your_passkey/annnounce
where "your_passkey" is a long series of numbers and letters, you find that announce URL in your Profile.
Aside that, I can't see any today by you uploaded torrent …

Thanks for the info Popper. It's good information to know, generally. Someone had make the remark "This site doesn't update as often as some others" and so I was curious.
(As far as my torrent, well, I'm not connectable and now it's causing problems. Thanks to Ajax, I'm going to instal an early form of uTorrent and try to use the in-house uploader. So for now the torrent is deleted, and I'll recreate it when I have the time.)
Thanks again!

What I've described is the update mechanism between the site and the tracker, when a new torrent had been added, so the tracker starts tracking it: each 30 seconds
The update of new announcements received by the tracker from the torrent clients to the site is as well each 30 seconds (uploaded, downloaded, seeding, stopped, started).
However, the cycle time for an individual torrent in an individual torrent client is set to 30 minutes (that is the next update time you see counting down in a torrent client's torrent details view). This counter runs for each torrent & client on an individual schedule.
30 minutes announce interval is a quite standard time for trackers. Most I know use that interval, some longer (45 minutes or 60 minutes), even fewer shorter (15 minutes). It is a balance between server load&bandwidth and having up-to-date statistics on a site/tracker. Stopping a torrent leads to an immediate update of the tracker as does starting a torrent (and the 30 minutes interval countdown for the next update in the client).
